As I walk down the rows and rows of clothing, I reach both arms out and let my fingers glide silently, but lovingly over each sweater, blouse and jacket. As I touch the clothing, the fabrics speak to me, telling me their stories and whispering "take me home."
There is something so sacred about a second-hand store. Each article of clothing has that story and has taken their journey from new on the racks, to worn, passed down and thrown out. Now, they are once again on the shelves, ready to repeat the cycle.
Some get their thrills from running marathons, others from jumping out of planes or rock climbing. For me, however, there is nothing more thrilling them coming away from a garage sale or thrift store, with bags in each hands stuffed to brimming with darling cardigans, dresses, blouses, jackets and boots. Ahhh, victory.
